Adams Acres is very different than the average orchard in Upstate New York. We use strictly organic practices in our operation. We have practiced organic farming since 2008 when the trees were initially planted. We are one of the few orchards in New York State that use these techniques. We planted newer apple varieties on smaller, semi-dwarfing rootstocks that are disease resistant. We did exhaustive research with various farmers, Cornell Cooperative Extension, NOFA (Northeast Organic Farming Association) and Ontario Lake Fruit Association to choose varieties that would thrive in Central New York and work well with our organic philosophy.
